Let's get Digital!
This is an exciting time for child passenger safety (CPS) programs as we move into a digital age of tracking car seat inspection activity. With support from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the National Safety Council (NSC) along with program partners has led an effort to develop an electronic car seat data collection platform known as the National Digital Car Seat Check Form (NDCF).
This webinar is designed to provide an overview and orientation to the NDCF. The NDCF is a free, optional resource offered for all currently certified child passenger safety technicians (CPSTs), CPST instructors, CPS program managers, and the Indian Health Service (IHS) area injury prevention specialists. Currently, data collected on car seat paper check forms can be difficult to compile and sort through. However, these check forms capture important data that provide programs and organizations with vital information about the life-saving work conducted in the field of CPS
with parents and caregivers.
The NDCF provides an opportunity to streamline data collection and reduce reporting burdens for technicians. CPSTs have immediate access to their car seat check data collected, which can be used to monitor trends, track seat distribution, accurately report seat check activity throughout your service area, and record issues encountered in the field.
Presenter: Jennifer Booge, and the National Digital Car Seat Form team will conduct the webinar orientation.
